Just before the Easter break one of the Study Centre's former pupils, Louise Daniels, received a major accolade.

Each year Hartlepool Borough Council's Child and Adult Services Department hosts an awards evening to recognise the achievements of the town's top students.

The students attending the Pools Study Support Centre qualify for these awards alongside their peers from each of the town's secondary schools.

Louise, from Dyke House Sports and Technology College was chosen as the 'Playing for Success' Student of the Year and was presented with her award at the prestigious event.

Louise has been a regular visitor to the Centre over the past few years and made an instant impression on staff with her bubbly character and hard working attitude.

She achieved 100% attendance during the courses she took part in and also stood out as a top performer within her group.

She is a keen karate enthusiast and has also applied her skills of concentration and dedication to the work she has done at Pools.

Louise has been one of the recent stars of the Study Centre and we wish her well in the future.
