The Spring term came to a close last week for the students attending Playing for Success at the Pools Study Support Centre. It has been a busy term with over 100 students completing their 10 week programme of literacy and numeracy activities.

8 different schools took part and all were represented at last week's Celebration Evenings held at Victoria Park to acknowledge the students' achievements.

There was a great turnout by parents and pupils for each event.

Thanks to Michael Nelson, Ben Clark and Gary Liddle for presenting certificates to the pupils.

Barnard Grove students were also commended on their outstanding Literacy assessment scores during the course whilst Golden Flatts and Sacred Heart were our top attendees over the 10 weeks.

During the awards ceremony there was also a presentation made to Mr Dennis Wilson who is retiring from working in the Centre after 4 years.

Dennis has supported and advised hundreds of pupils in our centre over the years and we will miss him and wish him well for the future.
