Posted on: Tue 08 Sep 2009

Here we bring you another What's In A Name feature which is new to our Matchday Programme Never Say Die this season.

We've already published Ritchie Humphreys' answers online and next up is midfielder Antony Sweeney.

Check out Saturday's issue of Never Say Die to see this feature done with Adam Boyd.

A is for Ambitions for the future…

"I just want to play at the highest level possible and if that could be with Hartlepool United then that would be all the better."

N is for New season…

"It will be tough but if we all stick together and do what is asked of us then I can see us achieving mid-table or higher. We struggled the last couple of seasons and the new players coming in will hopefully give us a fresh start."

T is for Treble against Chesterfield…

"That was a while ago! But it's my only hat-trick so it was a memorable one for me. Luckily enough we won the game too though we made hard work of it and it ended 3-2."

O is for Off! The red card at MK Dons...

"Disappointing. My first red card of my career and I got some stick off the management because it was my own fault. It wasn't a mistake by the ref, it was just I lost my head, saw the red mist and hopefully will learn from that."

N is for Number 15 - any reason?

"There wasn't to start with, it was just a random squad number. But I've kept hold of it for about six years now and it's formed part my email addresses and everything so you could say it's my favourite number now!"

Y is for Your highlights at Pools?

"Got to be the Millennium Stadium. It was a major achievement to get there for a Club of our size. To be so close to the Championship was disappointing but it was the biggest game of my career."

S is for Semi-Final Play-off goal at Bristol City in 2004…

"It was the first time I'd played on live television so a lot of family that hadn't seen me play got the chance that night. It was great to score but the way we lost was hard to take."

W is for Winger, centre-midfield or right back?

"Ha, any as long as I'm in the team. But if I was given the choice I'd go centre-mid."

E is for Eighteen year old debutant v York in 2001…

"Yeah, I remember we were struggling that season and results had been slow which was the reason I was in the squad in the first place. To get ten minutes in that game against York was great and to win was even better."

E is for Establishing yourself in the team…

"At the time I think Michael Nelson had broken his foot so Mark Tinkler dropped back in to defence which gave me the chance. I played the last ten games and in the play-offs and luckily I've been pretty much a regular since."

N is for Nicknames - any we don't know about?

"A lot of the lads say I've got a long head so 'Long Head' is one of them. I also get 'Shaggy' off Scooby Doo quite a lot as well, though I think it's the lads deflecting to take pressure off themselves."

E is for Energetic - you don't half get around the pitch…

"I do like to play that way - it's easier to run than pass the ball! In seriousness, it gets you involved in both penalty areas and if you can do both sides of the game then you've got a better chance of being in the team."

Y is for Your favourite goal?

"Probably the volley against Millwall last season. I don't often score from outside the box but I just saw it coming nicely, I struck it well and thankfully it went in the back of the net. It was just tough that we surrendered a two goal lead and lost 3-2!"
