We Need To Work As A Team Says Brown
Pools go into Friday night's game at Northampton Town with one clear objective.
After failing to keep a clean sheet for eleven games - the last came against Scunthorpe United in the Carling Cup - Danny Wilson's side are looking to really step up their defensive displays.
And, as striker James Brown reveals, it is not just the back five looking to improve on this statistic,
""It's exciting for the fans and whoever else is watching it but not so much for us.
"We have gone behind by two and three in previous games and that is something we really cant be doing every week - we need to work at being more solid and not conceding as many goals.
"It is definitely not just the defence - it is the whole team who need to work at defending."
Brown slotted in to the clash with Swindon Town as part of a 4-3-3 formation - but the youngster admits this is nothing new for him,
"I have played in that position a few times with three up front - we've done that quite a lot so I am used to doing it.
"We have played a few formations so I'm ready for anything really.
"We are due a win now and hopefully we can keep a more solid base to do that.
"We are scoring enough goals so we need to build on that to get results - hopefully after working on that together, we will start to keep more clean sheets."
And the players were certainly working as a team at the training ground this morning as they schemed to play a trick on their Pilates instructor.
Once the session was over they took an opportunity when he wasn't looking to hide a weight in his kit bag - with Brown a central part of the scheme.
"I think we got one over on him this morning after he's worked us hard in recent months," laughed Brown.
"His bag will definitely have been a little heavier when he went to pick it up, that's for sure!"
