Matchday Routine With Jamie McCunnie
Do you read any info in the papers or internet before a game?
I usually read some papers and have a look on the net before the game. I actually try and read the papers quite a lot to see what's going on back in Scotland, though getting a Daily Record down here in Hartlepool has been a bit tricky!
How do you spend your time before coming to the ground?
I just have a bite to eat really. I've been hanging about with Godwin so I've been listening to some of his music which is a little bit different! I try to relax, have a laugh and not think too much about things.
What do you have to eat prior to the game?
I usually have some cereal and then maybe some scrambled egg on toast. I don't eat too much before the game - some of the boys eat quite a lot but I tend to have quite a big meal on a Friday night and then something light on a Saturday morning.
Do you suffer from pre-match nerves?
No, not really; I just try to have a laugh and a joke. I'm probably quite a laid-back person so me and David Foley usually have a laugh before the game.
Do you have any matchday superstitions or lucky charms?
I always put my left sock and my left boot on first and then step on to the park with my left foot first. I don't know why I do it but I have always done it! Maybe I should think about changing it though as it's not bringing us much luck at the moment.
If it's an away game, how do you like to pass time during the journey?
I've got one of those new data connection things for my laptop which means I can look at the Internet while I'm on the coach. I sometimes have to stop Richard Barker stealing my laptop off me though - he always wants to look at something do with coaching! Other than that we watch DVDs - Michael Mackay has been bringing them but he's been getting a little bit of stick because the best he can come up with Spiderman!
What do you like to do to unwind after a game?
Well, after the game on Sunday against Bournemouth I went out for some food with Godwin and then ended up just watching a DVD. We're going to have to be careful though because some of the boys say we're spending too much time together and are asking questions!!
