Neil Austin is set to start for the Reserves when they host Scunthorpe United in the Totesport.com League at Billingham Town (2pm kick-off).
The defender has been out since being on the receiving end of a robust challenge from Rochdale's Joe Widdowson on the opening day of the season but made the bench for Saturday's trip to MK Dons.
However, after a month on the sidelines, the full-back will be keen to build his match fitness as he looks to regain his place in the First Team line-up.
"It's important that we get Neil back as soon as possible because he's an important player for us," said Micky Barron, who will once again oversee the Reserves this afternoon.
"He'll be looking to build his fitness up but it's great to have him back around with the squad - he's a great influence in there."
Austin is part of a strong Reserve line-up this afternoon and Barron is expecting a response from the players after the disappointing 2-0 defeat to Gateshead seven days ago.
"The players have got to prove they're better than that performance and that they are capable of challenging for the First Team," he told us.
"I don't think many of them did that last week but we have to hope that was a one-off and they can come back strongly today.
"This is a good opportunity for them to let people know that they are ready to be called on when required," he added.
We'll have a full report on the game here on the Official Website later this afternoon.
