Barron Demands More From Fringe Players

Posted on: Wed 01 Sep 2010

Micky Barron has warned the Club's fringe players that they must do better if they are to force their way in to the First Team reckoning.

Pools Reserves were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Gateshead at Billingham Town on Wednesday afternoon after a lacklustre display.

And Barron says they must improve if they are to break in to the First Team, which has remained unchanged in the last six fixtures.

"At the moment, it's just too easy for Mick (Wadsworth) to keep picking the players that are in the First Team," he told us.

"It's up to the players on the outside of the First Team to lift themselves for these Reserve games and prove they are worthy of a place in the side.

"I think some of the players need to have a look at themselves and ask if they are doing enough to challenge."

Ritchie Humphreys and Fabian Yantorno both played around an hour in the game as they look to build up match fitness after injury.
