Chris Turner has told his players to expect their stiffest test of the new season so far when they welcome Swindon Town to Victoria Park on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

The Robins have lost their opening two fixtures while Pools have picked up a useful away point at Rochdale and humbled Championship side Sheffield United in the Carling Cup.

But despite the club's differing fortunes in the first week of the campaign, Turner insists that Danny Wilson's men will offer a significant challenge at The Vic.

"I think that Swindon will cause us more problems than Sheffield United did," he told Pools Player.

"We've had two good results so far and that should only give the players a lot of confidence and I think it will give the fans more optimism too. The Swindon game is now our next opportunity to build on that.

"There's no doubt about it, you want to win as soon as possible in the new season and unfortunately for them they've lost their first two - we want to make sure they lose their third tomorrow.

"The key to any success we have this season will be the same team work, organisation and togetherness that the boys have shown in our first two fixtures."
