Chris Turner today admitted a buzz of excitement as the new League One fixtures were released and declared: "Bring them on!"
Pools will start the season at newly-promoted Rochdale on the opening day, before hosting Sheffield United in the Carling Cup followed by a home game with Swindon Town.
They'll go to Yeovil on 21st August, while Sheffield Wednesday will also visit The Vic in a hectic first month of the campaign.
"Playing a team that has just got promoted can be tricky but it's a relatively short journey for the fans which is great for us," Turner commented.
"Also, to have games against both Sheffield clubs at The Vic in the opening month is fantastic and I think there will be a real air of excitement around the Club by the time we get underway."
At Christmas, Pools host Charlton Athletic on 18th December, visit Huddersfield on Boxing Day and then welcome Leyton Orient on 28th December and Oldham on New Year's Day.
"I think the Christmas fixtures have been very generous to us in terms of travel and home games this season.
"Huddersfield is a very short journey for the fans to make on Boxing Day and it's good for the players too that we're not travelling five or six hours on Christmas Day to prepare."
The most eye-catching period in terms of tough fixtures is perhaps the run-in with Pools set to travel to Swindon, Sheffield Wednesday, Southampton and Charlton in April and May of 2011.
"I think the fixtures have turned out very fair for us overall and that last month or so will be very challenging but also very exciting.
"By then hopefully we can be challenging nearer the top of the division because that is most certainly our aim this season.
"Coming in to the end of the season you know the form you're in and what position you are in the table so all of those games will be extremely exciting for us.
"It's great seeing all the fixtures down on paper - I'm sure that, like me, all the fans get that buzz when they see the games down in print.
"This is when the season starts really, when the excitement starts to build and that is what football is all about. I can't wait."
And Turner also revealed that he has made further progress on the transfer front and is hoping to be able to unveil some new recruits as early as next week.
"We've continued to work hard and we're hoping that we'll have two players signed up next week - and hopefully they're the types of signing that will excite the fans."
