We get up close and personal with striker Adam Boyd with our regular summer feature.

A is for Awards
"It was a great season in 2004/2005 and my awards showed just how much we'd progressed as a Club. It's good to be voted Player's Player because that means the lads can see the contribution you've made. I remember when I was given the North East Football League Player award I was on crutches but it was great to collect it considering the competition I was up against in the region."
D is Debut against Barnet
"I can't remember a lot about it. I was a late substitute at Underhill and it just passed me by really because of the excitement. I can remember my first goal quite clearly - it was against Shrewsbury. I was on as a late sub again and I chased a ball down, put the keeper under pressure as he tried to watch it out but I won it and put it in from a tight angle."
A is for Ambitions?
"I want to score as many goals as I can. I have in my mind that I'd like to break Ken Johnson's record as top scorer at the Club. As a team, we'd like to push on up the table and improve next season."
M is for Millennium Stadium
"That was a special day; the greatest day I've had in football so far. The way the Club treated us was brilliant - we were down there for three days, stayed in a fantastic hotel, got to have a look round the stadium in advance and watch the League Two Final. It was just a shame we couldn't do the job after getting so close."
B is for Back at Pools
"I was delighted when I got the voicemail from the Chief Executive Russ Green asking him to give him a ring. I think that was on the Tuesday and by the Friday it was a done deal."
O is for Owls Hat Trick
"It's my only career hat-trick and it's very special. I've still got the DVD at home and people still mention it even four years on. It was a good night, especially given the conditions were absolutely soaking - by the end of the game The Vic was more like a swimming pool than a football pitch."
Y is for York Street Loan Spell
"I went there and was playing regularly for Boston. I think I played 14 times for them in League Two and I think I realised what the team needed from me if I was to be a regular starter. I understood the game better and when I came back I knew what I needed to do and thankfully I scored some important goals."
D is for Drama at Swindon
"It was a weird game at the end of the 2003/2004 season. We both needed a point to clinch a play-off place. I remember we went behind which was a bit worrying but luckily I got an equaliser with about twenty minutes left. From then on I think both teams were happy and nobody wanted to lose by doing anything stupid at the end of a long season. It was a strange end to the game but everyone got what they wanted in the end."
