Team News: Southampton v Pools

Posted on: Mon 22 Mar 2010

Chris Turner has doubts over defensive duo Gary Liddle and Neil Austin ahead of Tuesday's trip to face Southampton at St Mary's Stadium (7.45pm kick-off).

Liddle missed the game at Tranmere on Friday night with a groin problem and is struggling to feature, while Austin hobbled off midway through the first half with an injury to his lower back.

If Liddle can't play, then Ben Clark will continue at centre-back, while Austin's place could go to Leon McSweeney who performed excellently at full-back against Tranmere.

Southampton boss Alan Pardew has some injury concerns ahead of the game and may be forced to change the side which won 3-0 at MK Dons on Saturday.

Talented winger Adam Lallana has a groin injury and is rated as a doubt, while Michail Antonio is also struggling to be fit due to a groin injury.

Left-back Dan Harding may be forced to play at right-back due to the absences of Wayne Thomas and Jon Otsemobor; Radhi Jaidi could also be sidelined after missing the weekend win with a hamstring problem.
