Pools Youth Team followed the First Team by earning a 0-0 draw away from home in their game at Grimsby Town on Saturday.
Micky Barron saw injuries bite his squad again prior to the game and was forced to utilise joint top scorer Anthony Wakefield in an emergency centre-back role, while Under 15 pair Ryan Tuck and Luke Downing were among the substitutes.
The first half was a tightly-contested affair with neither side giving an inch to the other and very few chances created at either end.
What Pools did muster often came from set-pieces with trialist Scott Canham delivering some good balls in to the box with his left foot.
Centre-back Tom Marron, fresh from his solid appearance for the Reserves against Newcastle, was on top of his game again and marshalled the Pools defence throughout.
The second half opened up a little bit and Pools began to put some good passages of play together; all that was lacking was the final ball to cut Grimsby open.
Perhaps the best chance arrived in the final minute when substitute Chris Dodds was left unmarked in the box but his effort was well saved by the home team's keeper.
"It was a good draw for us in the circumstances because we have a lot of injuries at the moment," Barron commented.
"We had three Under 16s in the starting eleven today as well as Anthony (Wakefield) playing in a different role at the back so the clean sheet is pleasing.
"The point was a good one and it gives us something to work on with the lads in training this week."
