Players Know What Is Needed - Turner

Posted on: Fri 19 Mar 2010

Chris Turner has called for an end to Pools poor run on the road when they travel to take on Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park tonight (7.45pm kick-off).

Pools have lost nine in a row away from home but will be hoping they can stop that sequence this evening against a Rovers side who sit a point below them in the table.

"It's a very important game for obvious reasons," Turner told Pools Player.

"Our away results and lack of points have allowed teams to catch us up or pass us and it has put us in a very tight situation.

"It's down to us to get out of that situation and starting on Friday night at Tranmere we have got to be picking points up away from home.

"At home we've scored goals and taken six points from the last two games so hopefully that continues and we finish the season well.

"But we know it's most important to pick up some results away from home as well."

Turner has revealed there will be changes to the starting eleven in the wake of last Saturday's 4-0 defeat at Yeovil and says that everyone must be focused on the task of moving the club away from the danger zone.

"There will be changes and the players know the team and know what is required of them," he explained.

"We've got to concentrate on getting points and whoever goes over that white line tonight, or on Tuesday or next Saturday, that has to be their aim."
