Pools Media Team Reveal Cheltenham Tips

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2010

The Cheltenham Festival begins today and here in the Pools Media Department we're using the same exact science that has brought us success in previous years - pure guess work!

Out of the window goes form or taking in to consideration the jockey or the going on the course - and in comes the desire to choose a pretty name or one in some way related to Pools.

We don't bet big but it's always fun to have a little flutter on the Cheltenham Festival so here are three horses that caught our eye on today's card:

1.30
It's hard to resist General Miller in the first meeting today. Not only is he sporting a name famous with Pools fans due to Tommy Miller, but he's being ridden today by a jockey called Tinkler. At 25/1 we're already on it.

2.40
Recent signing Joe Gamble has put in some energetic displays since his switch to The Vic, so we're putting some money on the nose of Joe Lively at 33/1 in this one.

4.00
On a bad day for those who like to select their horses based solely on Pools connections, Monkerhostin rounds off our selections today (and even that's a really tenuous link to Andy Monkhouse!). We've heard it's got a chance in the 4.00 at 14/1.

While it's unlikely all three will win at 13,259/1 (we're not that lucky!) why not follow our lead and put a Patent bet on which will cover the three singles, doubles and the treble?

A thirty-pence each way Patent will give you a total bet of £4.20 and keep you interested in today's big race meetings!
