Behan Rues Luck After Injuring Ankle

Posted on: Wed 10 Mar 2010

Pools striker Denis Behan has been left to rue his luck after being hit by a second serious ankle injury of the season.

The 26-year-old was stretchered off early in the Reserves' trip to Rotherham United on Tuesday and now looks set to be sidelined for the majority of the rest of the campaign.

"It's exactly the same as my last injury," Behan told us.

"It's actually uncanny how similar it is though it hasn't swollen quite as badly as it did the last time.

"I was just running backwards for a ball and went over on my ankle - I heard a little crack and straight away I knew what I'd done and told the Physio at the time.

"I'm hoping I can get back before the end of the season but I've been told four to six weeks.

"Obviously I want to be back and play as many games as I can but if it doesn't settle down how we'd like then I'll make sure it's right before I play again," he added.
