West Sets Reserves Unbeaten Target

Posted on: Tue 09 Mar 2010

Colin West has laid down the challenge to his Reserve Team to continue their unbeaten run as they travel to face Rotherham United at the Don Valley Stadium this afternoon (2pm kick-off).

Pools Reserves have won two and drawn one of their fixtures since the turn of the year and with five fixtures remaining West wants the players to kick-on.

"It would be nice if we can go for the rest of the season unbeaten, that's the target I've set for the players," he revealed.

"The lads have performed well in recent weeks and hopefully we will see another strong performance from them at Rotherham."

With the Don Valley pitch cutting up quite badly over recent weeks, James Brown will not be risked but there will be game time for Denis Behan and Armann Bjornsson.

"James has got some minutes under his belt and is back in the First Team fold now so we felt a day of good training would benefit him more.

"It's a chance for others such as Armann and Denis, plus we'll have Ben Clark back after his suspension as well.

"I only know about the pitch there from what I've seen on television but we'll have to adapt our game to suit that, play balls in the right areas and work hard," he added.

We'll have a full report on the game later today on the Official Website.

Pools: Cook, Herbert, Marron, McSweeney, Haslam, Clark, Cherel, Rowell, C Liddle, Martin, Power, Fredriksen, Mackay, Greulich, Behan, Bjornsson.
