Chris Turner remained upbeat despite seeing his side beaten 2-0 by Huddersfield Town at Victoria Park this afternoon.

Goals from Gary Roberts and Neal Trotman did the damage for the Terriers, but CT insists it could have been different but for a few key incidents in the game.

"We sent the team out there to have a go at Huddersfield and for sixty or seventy minutes we more than matched them," he told Pools Player.

"The game turned on a couple of incidents that were totally out of our control; Andy Monkhouse was fouled on the halfway line but it wasn't given and ten seconds later they had a penalty.

"We created a good number of chances after that but then Peter Hartley looked to me to have been fouled in the box but it wasn't given and Huddersfield could have broken to score but for the Referee to stop it.

"The second goal was a whipped ball in and a bit of a scramble but other than that Scott Flinders had little to do of note.

"The last ten minutes went a bit scrappy which sometimes happens when you're chasing the game but up to the second goal I thought we performed well."
