Pools Youth Team are set to play their first Youth Alliance League fixture in eight weeks when they travel to Bradford City on Saturday (11am kick-off).

Micky Barron's men have not been in league action since 12th December when they were beaten 2-1 by Chesterfield due to a combination of a Christmas break and postponements.

And despite some adverse weather conditions this week, the game looks likely to be given the go-ahead, much to the relief of Barron and his frustrated squad.

"It's always difficult when games are getting called off because you want to take the things you've been working on in training in to match situations," he explained.

"Although they're clearly frustrated at the situation, they have continued to work extremely hard and show a great attitude to their work.

"Hopefully we can celebrate a winning return to action on Saturday, though we know that it will be a tough game for us at Bradford," he added.

The game takes place at Rawdon Meadows on Harrogate Road in Bradford (BD10 9RR).

We'll bring you news of the result here on the Official Website on Saturday, as well as a full report on Monday.
