Joe Gamble is set to make his debut on Saturday when Pools play host to MK Dons at Victoria Park (3pm kick-off), Chris Turner has revealed.

The midfielder joined the Club from Cork City last week to bring an end to Turner's long search for a ball-winner to add to his new-look squad.

And a weekend starting role at The Vic will be the perfect birthday present for Gamble who celebrates turning 27 today.

"Joe will start against MK Dons," Turner revealed.

"We'll keep a close eye on him during the game because he hasn't played a lot of football since the Irish season ended in November.

"Whether he lasts the full ninety minutes is one for us to wait and see but we're excited about seeing him in action and hopefully he can have an impact."
