Matty Tymon has been ruled out of action until at least the New Year with an ankle ligament problem picked up during last week's Reserve game at Scunthorpe United.

The young striker was forced off ten minutes from time with the injury and it was initially feared that he had sustained a fracture.

However, it now appears that it is ligament damage and he has been placed in a cast for at least two weeks before he begins his rehabilitation.

"It's disappointing for Matty because he was just back in to the starting line-up for the Reserves and looking to make an impression," Colin West explained.

19-year-old Tymon has scored one goal in his three appearances for the Reserves so far this season.
