Striker Billy Greulich made his maiden First Team appearance for Pools at the weekend, replacing Adam Boyd as a 73rd minute sub.
And the 18-year-old who joined the Club from Brandon United in the summer after impressing while on trial, admitted he loved every minute of it,
"To be honest I was just excited," Greulich told hartlepoolunited.co.uk.
"I was told to warm up with about forty minutes to go and they left me warming up for about 20 minutes and I thought I was never going to get on.
"But when it came to me coming on, I didn't know what to do.
"I just gave it my all and chased everything."
And Greulich's determined running and obvious enthusiasm caught the eye of the Pools fans who were impressed with his debut for the Club,
"Hopefully the crowd enjoy the way I play, I just need to make sure I keep doing what I can and hopefully I'll get my chances.
"I thought I was only named in the squad because Colin (Larkin) was injured and I wasn't expecting to play so to actually come on was a surprise, but a great one.
"There were a couple of times that if I'd just been that little bit taller I would have got something on the ball to score."
And after a year which has been him move on from Northern League football to League One, Greulich insists he is determined to work hard and prove himself,
"I am just giving it my best shot - I've made a big step up from last year and I am just going to give my all and see where it takes me.
"I really enjoy it here and I want to do well."
And after his first taste of League One football, Greulich will be looking for more as Pools look to push on up the table,
"It was a great result against Tranmere and back to back wins for the first time this season and now we know another win at Brighton on Saturday will take us up the table to start competing with the bigger teams."
