The visit to The County Ground on Saturday will bring back more memories for Pools winger Andy Monkhouse than for most.
The 28-year-old left Swindon Town back in January 2007 to move to The Vic after a successful loan period with Pools.
And now Monkhouse is looking forward to going back to his former club for the third time and with both of his past visits ending 1-0 to Pools, another tight victory would be more than enough on Saturday.
"It is always nice to go back to your old club, I don't know what type of reception I'll get, probably a bad one but I will look forward to the game.
"It is a former club and a former manager but to me it is just another game and those things don't matter - it's the three points that count."
It's another long trip for Pools on Saturday in a month which has also seen a game at Exeter City and will end at Brighton.
But as Monkhouse insists, the players are looking forward to continuing their strong away performances at Swindon Town,
"To be fair, every trip for us is a long way but we have done alright on the road so far and hopefully we will get a positive result on Saturday.
"It's a bit weird really, I don't know why it's worked out that we're doing OK away and not at home but whatever's happened, we just have to look to Saturday's game and hopefully get a good result that we can then take into the Tranmere game and get a result there as well.
"We know it will be a difficult game at Swindon - I heard the other day that they have not lost since the first day of the season so we know it will be hard.
"We know the way Danny Wilson likes to play, to get the ball down and that could set up for us to hit them on the break.
"The onus is on them really, they are at home but we just have to go to try and get a result."
Last time out at The County Ground and it was Ben Clark who found the back of the net with a penalty in the 90th minute to snatch all three points for Pools - an outcome that would more than please Monkhouse this time around,
"It's the best way isn't it to score in the last minute because they can't get back in the game then - I'd take that tomorrow.
"We just have to keep going until the last minute - last season both teams needed a result and we got the positive result which helped us out of trouble.
"It is a different team for us, a different team for them and it will be a different type of game.
"We won't be scared about going there, it's about time we got some results on the board.
"Once you are out on the field at 3 o'clock it doesn't matter who the manager is, it is up to the players he has picked to go out and get the result we desperately need."
