Frustrated Turner Backs Players To Come Good

Posted on: Sat 10 Oct 2009

A defiant Chris Turner has backed the players to come good at Victoria Park after another frustrating night on home turf.

Wind and rain ruined their Friday night encounter with Brentford and afterwards the Director of Sport called for fans and players to come together and move forward.

"The game started off quite brightly and Brentford gave us a few problems early on," Turner told Pools Player.

"Once we got ourselves in to the game I thought we created some chances and got the ball in the box quite a few times but the ball just wouldn't come down for us.

"We're as frustrated as anybody that it's not going for us at home but you don't go round groaning or moping - we won't throw the towel in, we'll just keep working on things.

"All I ask is that the fans vent their frustrations at me and not the players - and do it after the game because that does affect the confidence of the players.

"We've got a good, honest bunch of lads here and we'll prove our doubters wrong by turning this in to a winning situation - that drives you on in this game."
