Pools Youth Team face perhaps their most difficult assignment of the season so far this weekend when they travel to face Hull City on Saturday (12noon kick-off).
The Tigers are renowned for their talented Youth set-up but Micky Barron is feeling confident after Pools' strong win over Burton Albion last weekend.
"I think the win over Burton was the best I've seen this group of lads play - they were brilliant," he commented.
"It's all to do with getting the consistency though; it's no good if we now go to Hull and don't keep to those same standards.
"They have Academy status and will have lots of good players but we went there and got a draw last season so we'll be hoping to go one better on Saturday.
"If we can create as many chances as we did against Burton and defend in the same way then we'll have a good chance in the game," he added.
Barron's plans are being hampered by injuries to Callum Martin, Andy Charlton, Billy Blackford, Jordan Richards and Jordan Mellish who will all miss the game.
Trialist David Short will be included in the travelling squad once again, while Barron has also drafted in Chris Dodds, Christian Selby and Josh Rowbotham from the Under 16s.
The game will be played at Winterton Rangers ground (DN15 9QF) with kick off at 12pm.
Pools: Thomas, Herbert, Marron, P Johnson, Purvis, Sharples, Pearson, Liddle, Wakefield, Mason, Hassan, D Johnson, Short, Dodds, Selby, Rowbotham.
