Pools Youth Team returned to winning ways after taking all three points with an impressive performance against Burton Albion on Saturday.
Micky Barron's youngsters were looking to respond following a 2-0 reverse at Chesterfield last weekend and dominated against Albion for the majority of the ninety minutes to record a 3-1 victory.
"I thought it was an excellent team performance with some very good individual displays," Barron enthused afterwards.
"It was a difficult game with the wind blowing quite strongly but we coped with the conditions well and thoroughly deserved the win.
"We looked extremely lively going forward and created plenty of chances but we also looked strong at the back which gave us the base for our win."
Pools began brightly in the game, with Chay Liddle twice going close in the opening ten minutes and Callum Hassan also causing problems for the visitors.
However, Burton Albion took the lead against the run of play when Pools failed to deal with a free-kick and the loose ball was fired home.
It served to further inspire the Pools youngster though and they were on level terms when Michael Pearson steered home Anthony Wakefield's long throw-in.
Jack Sharples superbly set Wakefield away for a chance to score a second just before the break but the Albion keeper made a fine stop to keep the score level at half time.
The second half was almost all one-way traffic with Pools using the wind at their backs to pin their visitors inside their own half.
Wakefield converted a stunning second early after the restart when he burst past two defenders and unleashed an unstoppable twenty yard drive in to the net.
Sharples almost made it 3-1 when he drove in to the box but fired wide, and then Wakefield and Mason saw efforts on goal well saved.
And Wakefield finished Albion off with the third goal and his second of the game when he bustled between the defender and goalkeeper to find the net.
