Bjornsson Not In Contention For Saturday

Posted on: Tue 01 Sep 2009

Chris Turner has admitted he is pleased with the competition for places in his squad following the arrival of Armann Bjonrsson from SK Brann.

The Iceland international agreed a deal on Tuesday evening to become Turner's eleventh signing of a hectic summer and the Director of Sport is happy with the business he has done.

Bjornsson won't be in the squad to face Norwich this weekend having returned to Norway but he will be back in the country to fight for a place in next week's game at Oldham.

"He's unavailable this weekend because his contract starts from 1st September," Turner explained to Pools Player.

"Armann will come in and add something totally different to what we have already and once again it's another string to our bow.

"He saw the game on Tuesday and now he is relishing the chance to challenge and get in the side and then holding down a place.

"It adds competition and if you have competition in all positions that will benefit the Club."
