Collins A Doubt For MK Dons Clash

Posted on: Mon 03 Aug 2009

Sam Collins hobbled away from Field Mill this afternoon facing a race to be fit for the season opener at MK Dons in seven days time.

The defender was forced off during the pre season friendly at Mansfield after suffering an ankle injury and Chris Turner has revealed he is doubtful to be able to take his place at stadium:mk next weekend.

"Somebody stood on his ankle and it's swollen quite badly," Turner commented.

"It's obviously very painful and must make him a doubt for next week's game which is a big blow for us."

Turner has already lost the services of Ben Clark (hernia) and Ritchie Humphreys (Achilles) for several weeks, while Neil Austin and Jon-Andre Fredriksen weren't risked against Mansfield.
