Pools Name Fifth Signing Of Summer
Chris Turner has today added goalkeeper Scott Flinders to his squad for the upcoming 2009/10 campaign.
Since releasing both Arran Lee-Barrett and Jan Budtz at the end of last term, Turner has been looking for suitable replacements and Flinders fits the bill.
The 23-year-old came through the ranks at Barnsley before signing for Crystal Palace in July 2006.
Strong competition for places at Selhurst Park saw chances limited for the young keeper who made just 11 starts for Palace during his three years with the club before being released at the start of the summer.
The keeper was capped by England at Under 20 level in 2005 and he is highly rated within the game.
Standing at 6'4" in height, Flinders is an imposing keeper who is hard working with a good attitude both on and off the field.
Flinders has enjoyed loan spells with Gillingham, Brighton, YeovilTown, Blackpool and more recently Falkirk during his time with Palace and now comes to Pools looking to enjoy a more consistent run of appearances.
Rotherham-born Flinders is Turner's fifth signing of the summer - with Adam Boyd, Peter Hartley, Leon McSweeney and Neil Austin already putting pen to paper with Pools.
