We Can Be Successful This Year - Boyd
An impatient Adam Boyd has admitted he is wishing away his summer after the excitement for the new season went up a notch following the release of the fixtures.
Boyd returned to his roots at the end of last season when he made the switch back to Victoria Park from Leyton Orient and revealed he couldn't wait pull on a Pools shirt again.
And now the schedule is set for another testing campaign in League One, the 27-year-old is adamant that Pools can enjoy a successful season.
"The fixture list is out now and it looks good for us," he commented.
"MK Dons are strong and we're not sure how Charlton will be but we have to fancy our chances against Bristol Rovers so the opening period is exciting.
"I think the biggest bonus from the schedule is the last twelve games.
"If we can hang around in mid-table or perhaps a little higher then we'll be well-placed and we'd have to fancy ourselves to pick up quite a few points from those fixtures.
"I found out a couple of weeks ago when the fixtures were coming out and I've been looking forward to it since then because there are lots of exciting games."
With a return to training just over a week away, Boyd revealed that he has been working to ensure he hits the ground running when he reports for action.
"I've been doing bits and bobs to get myself right but I'm not sure anything fully prepares you for that first day of pre season training!" he joked.
"I'm looking forward to it because it will be nice to be back in amongst it and see some familiar faces as well as get to know the other new arrivals at the Club.
"I've had a good reaction from most people I've seen so far - unless they've been saying different behind my back!
"To be honest though, it's not about what I say or what they say, it's about what happens on the pitch and I know in the end that will define my second spell at the Club."
