New To League One: Brentford
First up in the series of our feature which is looking at the new teams to enter into League One next term are last season's League Two champions Brentford.
Who's in charge?
Andy Scott joined Brentford back in May 2007 when then manager Terry Butcher took him from his position as Youth Team Coach at Leyton Orient to become his assistant at Griffin Park. When Butcher was sacked in the October of that year, Scott took over as caretaker manager before being given the job on a permanent basis in December 2007.
And Scott has secured his place in the hearts of the Brentford faithful by leading them comfortably to the top of League Two in his first full season in charge.
As a player Scott turned out for Sheffield United, Brentford and Oxford before ending his career at Leyton Orient where he was forced to retire after being diagnosed with a heart condition.
Where do they play?
Griffin Park has been the home of Brentford since 1904 and has a capacity of 12, 800. It is the only English football ground to have a pub on each corner.

How did they get here?
Simply by winning League Two. Brentford had a solid home record, with only 2 home defeats all term and made their mark away from Griffin Park with ten victories on their travels - securing them top spot and a six-point gap between them and second placed Exeter City.
Top scorer Charlie McDonald hit 18 goals to help The Bees on their way and will be looking to make his mark in League One next term.
When did we last meet?
Pools' last meeting with Brentford came in that ill-fated 2005/06 campaign. Paul Stephenson's side went to Griffin Park battling for their League One lives and, although Michael Nelson gave the Club hope with a 90th minute equaliser (click here for match report), it was not to be for Pools that season and League Two beckoned.
Brentford finished in the League One Play Offs that term, losing out to Swansea City in the Semi Finals.
When do we play them?
Friday 9th October 2009 (Victoria Park)
Saturday 8th May 2010 (Griffin Park)
Chris says…
"Brentford have strengthened their squad with several new players who the Manager obviously knows well. Griffin Park is always a difficult ground to go to and get a result. They will be coming up full of confidence and I think they will a team to look out for."
