Pools face a trip to the Ricoh Arena to take on Coventry City in the First Round of the Carling Cup.

The last time the two teams met was back in the 1972/73 season when City ran out 1-0 winners in a League Cup Round Two clash.

Last season Pools made it through to the Third Round of the competition, narrowly losing out to Leeds United 3-2 at Elland Road.

Pools saw off competition from Scunthorpe United in Round One and beat then Premier League outfit West Brom at The Vic in the Second Round.

The tie will be played in the week beginning 10^th August 2009.
