Chris Turner has reacted to reports in today's local press linking him with a move for Norwegian midfielder Magne Hoseth.

The Director of Sport is baffled by stories saying a deal is being tied up to bring the player to Victoria Park, revealing that he will not be joining Pools this summer.

"We're looking at all markets both home and abroad to try and improve our squad," Turner told the Official Website.

"But I can categorically rule out the signing of Magne Hoseth because he simply is not on our radar.

"We want to bring good players to the Football Club but I think we have to be realistic about the ones we target."

Turner was also quick to pour cold water on suggestions that Darlington's Neil Austin has undergone a medical with the Club last week.

"We have players on the shortlist, some are abroad and some in the UK, but as always we won't be releasing names until the deal is done and 100% confirmed.

"I've got a number of things ongoing at this current time which I am waiting for phone calls about and hopefully we'll see some more progress soon."

Turner has already signed Adam Boyd, Leon McSweeney and Peter Hartley since the end of last season but is continuing to work hard to bring in more fresh faces.

And while the rumour mill continues to work at full pace, the Official Website remains the only place to get the real news on Pools - when it's a done deal, it's a done deal.
