Andy Monkhouse has today signed a new deal which will keep him at Victoria Park.

The winger was out of contract at the end of last season and speculation was growing that he could be on the move.

However, Chris Turner has convinced the 28-year-old that his future lies at The Vic and he's now agreed terms on a fresh deal with the Club.

Monkhouse has become a big hit with fans since making a move to Pools from Swindon Town in January 2007 after spending a couple of months on loan with the Club.

Since then he's made 105 appearances for Pools, scoring 17 goals along the way including eight in the season just gone.

The re-signing of Monkhouse marks another piece in the jigsaw for Turner, who has been working hard behind the scenes to mould the squad for the 2009/2010 campaign.
