Michael Mackay has today signed a new contract to keep him at Victoria Park.

The striker was offered a fresh contract when his previous deal expired at the end of last season and he has now agreed terms with the Club.

Mackay joined Pools from Consett in February 2007 after being a prolific scorer in non-league and has gone on to make 60 appearances for the Club and score 10 goals.

The 26-year-old has been mainly used as a substitute during the season just past, finding the net four times for the First Team and also scoring 11 in 14 appearances for the Reserves.

Last term, he finished second behind Joel Porter in the Goal of the Season vote, for his curling effort in the game at Yeovil Town.
