Michael Nelson has said the time for talking is over as Pools look to secure their League One futures with eight massive games remaining.
The defender has revealed that the players are hurting following their unexpected weekend defeat at Cheltenham and will look to repay the fans support when they clash with Millwall on Saturday.
"You can talk about performances and results all you want, but at the end of the day we have to go out and perform and that's what we have to do," he told us.
"The fans spend a lot of money travelling the length of the country to watch us and we were disappointed with that game, not only for ourselves, but for them travelling all that way then going home frustrated.
"Now we need to put a good show on on Saturday and hopefully go some way to repaying them for the miles travelled."
Nelson revealed that the mood on the coach travelling home from Whaddon Road was subdued but insists they have the character in the squad to hit back.
"Everyone was obviously gutted with the result but looking back at it, we really didn't deserve to get anything out of the game with the way we played. We didn't look like scoring or threatening them.
"Everyone was really disappointed with the outcome, especially when you go into the changing rooms and look at the results and nobody had made any ground on us.
"If we had won, which we were quite capable of doing, we would have been eleven points away from the trouble at the bottom. It would also have pushed us on to go for the rest of the season.
"I just think there were too many people who under-performed on the day. You can sometimes get away with having two or three players have a bad day bit I think the majority of people on Saturday, if not everybody, had a bad one.
"We have to go in to the remaining games and perform to the best of our ability and if we do that I am sure we will win more than we'll lose."
