Chris Turner insists that Pools will no longer be looking over their shoulders if they continue to put in performances like the one against Leicester at Victoria Park tonight.

The Director of Sport was full of praise for his players after they twice came from behind to claim a point against the league-leaders - now he wants them to meet that high standard every week.

"Tonight the lads showed a lot of passion and commitment against a very strong Leicester side," he told Pools World.

"When Stevie Howard scored the late penalty I thought it would be very difficult for us to get back in to the game but the boys lifted themselves and got a thoroughly deserved equaliser.

"I think the penalty we were given could have been a bit iffy but I couldn't really see it and I thought the Leicester one was a clear penalty from where I was.

"Andy Monkhouse deserved his goal and like all the boys he raised his game tonight - now we need to be able to do that against the Walsall, Crewes and Leyton Orients.

"We can't just raise things for MK Dons, West Ham, Stoke and Leicester because that level of performance that they showed tonight is what we look for."
