Suspension And Injury Strike Pools Again

Posted on: Sat 07 Feb 2009

It wasn't just the disappointment of losing a 2-1 lead so late that was on Chris Turner's mind after this afternoon's clash with Walsall at Victoria Park.

The Director of Sport will be forced to shuffle his pack for next weekend's visit to high-flying MK Dons after injury and suspension once again hit his squad.

Ritchie Jones missed the game with the Saddlers due to a groin injury, while Jamie McCunnie played on despite jarring his knee during the first half.

As well as that Ben Clark and Matty Robson both picked up their fifth yellow cards of the season meaning they will be missing for the trip to stadiummk.

"This is the situation where the likes of Sam Collins will get their chance," Turner told Pools World.

"It's up to Sam to get in there and try to cement his place and make it difficult for Ben to come back in.

"Ritchie couldn't play today because of a problem he's had and Jamie must be a doubt for next weekend's game as well now."
