Lange Set For Place On Bench

Posted on: Fri 06 Feb 2009

Chris Turner has revealed that Ritchie Jones could be an injury doubt for Saturday's League One clash with Walsall at Victoria Park (3pm kick-off).

The midfielder scored in Pools' midweek draw at Huddersfield Town but is struggling with a groin problem which Turner is hoping will clear in time.

New signing Rune Lange may be handed a place on the substitutes' bench with Daniel Nardiello set to be banned for three matches.

It had been thought that the Norwegian front man would be given longer to build up his match sharpness but Turner has revealed he could be in the squad this weekend.

Andy Monkhouse returns to bolster the options after the winger was forced to sit out Tuesday's game through a one-match suspension.

New Walsall boss Chris Hutchings saw his side beaten 4-1 at home by runaway leaders Leicester City on Tuesday and has admitted he may enter the loan market next week.

However, his squad could be bolstered for the trip to Victoria Park by the return of Welsh international Stephen Roberts who has been out since the beginning of December with a knee injury.
