Turner Hails Support From The Town

Posted on: Sat 24 Jan 2009

Chris Turner has thanked the people of Hartlepool for turning out in force for this afternoon's big FA Cup Fourth Round tie with West Ham United at Victoria Park (12.40pm).

There is expected to be in excess of 6,500 fans inside the ground today and Turner says they can play a massive part as Pools look to claim a third Premier League scalp of the season.

"It's been a tremendous response from the fans this week," Turner commented.

"I said after the win over Stoke that the Club deserved a really big draw and the excitement around the town during the last week or so has been brilliant.

"What we need now is for those people who are coming along to make The Vic a noisy atmosphere this afternoon and roar us on throughout the game.

"We want them to show West Ham how passionate we are here in Hartlepool and we want to show those watching what a great Club this is.

"And most importantly, we want to go out there and put on the kind of performance that the supporters can all be proud of."
