Danny Wilson has been nominated for the League One Manager of the Month award for October, while striker Joel Porter is in the running for the Player of the Month prize.

After drawing 3-3 with Swindon at the beginning of the month, Pools were beaten at Northampton before finishing October with four straight victories over Walsall, Huddersfield, Brighton and Carlisle.

Porter scored a hat-trick in the stunning comeback against Swindon and was also on target twice during the sensational 5-3 victory over Huddersfield Town.

Wilson, who won the award three times during Pools' promotion season, is up against MK Dons boss Roberto Di Matteo, Bristol Rovers' Paul Trollope and Peterborough United's Darren Ferguson.

Meanwhile, Porter must fight-off competition from MK Dons striker Sam Baldock, Leeds United's teen sensation Fabian Delph and Bristol Rovers in-form front man Rickie Lambert.

The Manager of the Month winners will be announced on Sky Sports News on Thursday 6^th November at approximately 1.20pm, while Player of the Month winners will be revealed on Sky Sports 1's Big League Weekend show at approximately 6pm on Friday 7^th November.
