Ritchie Jones Answers Your Questions
We put Ritchie Jones in the hotseat as he answers the questions you sent in for him.
How did you feel about coming to Hartlepool?
Emma Pearson
It felt really good really. It's a good move for me where I can come and get First Team football and so far it's working out really well for me.
How good is the squad you are playing in and how do you think we will do this season?
Tony Middleton
I think the squad here is excellent to be honest. We have some really good players and hopefully we can get some results together to move up the table. It's all about getting that winning mentality in to the squad and improving our consistency and if we can do that I don't see why we can't aim to be pushing for the play-offs.
What has it been like at Hartlepool so far?
Becca Tracey
It's been really good, I am very much enjoying it. All the players and staff here have made me extremely welcome and I'm sure I've made the right move coming here.
After leaving Manchester United what made you think that Hartlepool was the right club for you?
Ben Clark
It was down to how much interest the gaffer showed in me. He made me feel like he really wanted me to be part of the Club and that helped make up my mind. I came down and got a feel for the place and watched training and I could see there were some good lads here too. As well as all that I also have some family in the area so it's a perfect move for me really.
Most former Manchester United Youth players talk about how much Sir Alex Ferguson got involved during their time at the Club. How much of an impact did Sir Alex have on your life and the way you conduct yourself on the football pitch? And finally, is Wayne Rooney really any good in goal?
Scott Kenny
The gaffer there was very strict with the players but everyone knows it's for their own benefit. If you did something well he would tell you about it but also if you did something wrong he'd let you know. I'd say he's had quite a bit of an impact on me really - he's taught me the rights and wrongs and I like to think I've been brought up properly by playing there.
As for Wayne Rooney, yeah he does fancy himself as a keeper. He'd often pull some gloves on when training was finished and go in goal and I have to say he's quite good too!
What's it been like playing for such a big team like Manchester United and then changing to play for a League One team?
Calum Bratt (your boot sponsor)
To be honest, it hasn't been a great change for me because I've played out on loan in the Championship and in League One during the last couple of years with Manchester United. Coming here is pretty much the same; training is the same, we do the same drills and I think the leagues are all quite similar. I'd fancy us to beat anyone on our day.
Thanks for sponsoring my boots Calum, it's very much appreciated.
When you were at Manchester United who was the best player to learn from?
Hayley Hildreth
I think Roy Keane was great when he was a player there; I used to look up to him. With the current players I'd have to say Gary Neville and Paul Scholes. Neville works so hard in training and eats all the right things. Scholes is another great example for youngsters - he trains really hard and he's still a quality player too.
Do you reckon you look like Richard Barker? Or indeed are you Richard Barker's son?
Andy Glover
Ha ha! I'm not sure about that at all!!
