Best Side Won The Game Admits Boss
Danny Wilson admitted that the best side won through after seeing Leicester City win 3-0 in the First Round of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at Victoria Park.
The Pools boss said his team had done well during the first half but as time went on the visitors had earned their right to a place in Round Two.
"The first goal was always going to be important and they got it at a good time from their point of view," Danny told Pools World.
"The first half was a cracking game with it flashing from end to end and chances all over the place but we couldn't find that first goal.
"You have to say that as the game went on the quality that Leicester has shone through really.
"There were positives to take; I thought Matty Robson came in and did very well on the left, knocking some superb balls in to the box.
"Perhaps we were a bit unlucky not to go in a goal to the good at the break but overall the best side won the game in the end."
