The Vic plays host to Newcastle United on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick off) as Pools go into their first home pre season game.

And Magpies boss Kevin Keegan has revealed he will be putting Pools to the test by fielding many of his senior players,

"I will field a very strong team," Keegan revealed.

"I will take all of my players which are fit but I won't take any gambles with any players who we don't think are quite fit or have got slight problems.

"We've got two or three, like you always do at this time of year, who we've pulled out training as a precaution such as gym work because they might have a stiff back.

"I'll take three or four youngsters and I'll give them a chance as well at some stage whether that be 10 or 15 minutes."

And Keegan reveals his players are raring to get back into action, starting at The Vic on Saturday

"I'm really looking forward to it. We've had two weeks now and they players are ready for a match."
