Pools have today completed the signing of former Newcastle United goalkeeper Mark Cook after the 19-year-old enjoyed a successful trial period with the Club.

Cook joined Danny Wilson's squad for the beginning of pre season training and has done enough to impress the Pools hierarchy and earn a contract at Victoria Park.

The shot-stopper was released from St. James' Park after five years at the end of last season and has made the short switch down the A19 to join Pools in League One.

Cook, who passed a medical this morning, will add competition for places at The Vic alongside last summer's recruits Jan Budtz and Arran Lee-Barrett.
