Pools Start New Season On Home Soil

Pools will begin the 2008/2009 season on home turf when they take on Colchester United at Victoria Park on Saturday 9th August.

And after the midweek Carling Cup tie with Scunthorpe, Danny Wilson's men will then travel to Tranmere Rovers the following Saturday.

Newly-promoted Stockport County will be the second side to visit The Vic in League One next season on Saturday 23rd August, before the month is rounded off with a visit to Peterborough United.

Pools' first-ever trip to Leicester City will arrive on Saturday 27th September when the lads are due to visit the Walkers Stadium, while they will return to Elland Road to face Leeds on Saturday 22nd November.

There's an away trip to look forward to on Boxing Day when the team will travel to Scunthorpe and Crewe will be at The Vic on 28th December.

The new year will kick-off in fine style when Leicester come to Victoria Park on Saturday 3rd January, while the last home game of the season could offer some fireworks as Leeds come to town on Saturday 25th April.

Pools will then finish the campaign with the long trip to face Bristol Rovers on Saturday 2nd May at the Memorial Stadium.
