Matty Tymon has today put pen to paper on his first professional contract with the Club.

The promising striker has made a name for himself in the Youth Team during the last couple of years, following up last term's haul of 27 goals with a further 29 this season.

And the youngster has made an efficient step-up to Reserve level during the recent campaign, scoring 10 goals for Ian Butterworth's men including a hat-trick against Barnsley in April.

Joining the Club in 2004, Tymon quickly got on the goal trail and made an instant impression playing for the Under 15s and Under 16s before progressing in to the Youth Team.

On Tuesday evening he was unveiled as the Youth Team Players' Player of the Season after securing an overwhelming percentage of his team-mates' votes.

Tymon will now look to transfer his goal-scoring on to the First Team stage as he joins the senior ranks for the start of the 2008/2009 campaign.
