Walsall defender Anthony Gerrard says he expects no let-up from any of his team-mates as they prepare to bring their season to a close against Pools on Saturday.

Danny Wilson's men travel to the Bescot Stadium this weekend in the final game of the campaign - but Gerrard is determined to see the Saddlers through to a winning finale.

"Everyone wants to finish the season on a high," insisted Walsall's Player of the Season.

"It's been an exceptional season but we want to take a win in to the summer.

"It's only now that I can sit back and reflect on what we have achieved this year. There have been a few negatives recently but the positive far outweigh them.

"The fans have given us excellent backing and it will be nice to end on a high for them," he added.
