We Can Win At Withdean Insists Wilson
Danny Wilson has urged his players to bounce back from the disappointment of Millwall defeat to put a dent in Brighton's play-off hopes this weekend.
The Seagulls are currently four points outside the top six in League One with three games left and hoping they can nudge inside the play-off place right at the death.
"I'm sure they'll be a bit disappointed that they're not right up there in the shake-up," Wilson commented.
"But they could still put a little run together and push themselves up in to the top six and they will view our game as a big chance to get three points, particularly with it being at home.
"They will be hoping that they can make it a platform to push on and get in to that play-off zone so I don't think it will be a game that will simply peter out - both sides will be going for it."
The Pools boss played 135 times and scored 33 goals during a four year stay at Brighton in the mid-eighties and he still has a healthy respect for the Club.
He says that once they get issues sorted around the building of a brand new stadium he can see Albion going from strength to strength.
"Brighton is a fantastic club and I know they are frustrated to be playing at the Withdean Stadium because it's not really football-orientated.
"They've made the best of the situation and you have to tip your hat to them for that but everyone there wants a new stadium.
"I believe that Mr Prescott gave it the go-ahead but there have been a few hurdles since then and the sooner they can get things going on it the better it will be for the Club.
"As it happens, the Withdean has been something of a fortress for them so it won't be easy for us - we'll go there knowing we're in for a battle but knowing it's not beyond us."
