As part of a new link-up which will see the Club working closely with East Durham College, Hartlepool United are set to launch a Ladies Team for the 2008/09 season.

The Club will be holding open trials for girls aged 16 and above in order to select the first-ever HUFC Ladies Team.

Pools Chief Executive Russ Green admitted he was pleased to see the Club develop in this way,

"We are delighted to announce that Hartlepool United will be launching a Ladies Football Team from next season in conjunction with our Centenary celebrations.

"We will be working very closely with East Durham College with this project, alongside other exciting new projects we have in place with the College.

"This is yet another venture by Hartlepool United which will hopefully involve another section of the community and also raise the profile of the Club and the team within the world of football."

Trails will be held on the following dates:

20^th May 2008 - 6.30pm - 8pm
15^th July 2008 - 6.30pm - 8pm
19^th August 2008 - 6.30pm - 8pm
26^th August 2008 - 6.30pm - 8pm

Trials will take place at East Durham College, Howletch Campus, SR8 2AQ.

All triallists are asked to bring appropriate footwear.
