Pools Reserves will take on their Sunderland counterparts in a pre season friendly close to the start of the new campaign.

The game will take place at the Academy of Light on Tuesday 7th August with kick-off at 1pm.

It's sure to provide a stiff test for Ian Butterworth's side as they look to prepare for the fresh campaign by getting more match action under their belts.

"It's a great fixture for us and I am sure it's one the lads are looking forward to," Butterworth commented.

"We've organised some good games this pre season and I'm sure that all the lads will be ready to go by the time we face Luton on August 11th," he added.
